19th Senior & 14th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2022 - Kolkata W.B
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am pleased to inform you that 19th Senior & 14th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2021 will be conducted by West Bengal Para Sports Association (Bengal Paralympic Association) under the aegis of Paralympic Committee of India & Corporate Sponsorship by UCO Bank & Canara Bank.
All the State / UT Associations and other PCI Affiliated Members and their respective Athletes are requested to follow the set of rules and formalities regarding their participation in the said Championship.
1. Host: West Bengal Para Sports Association (Bengal Paralympic Association) under the aegis of Paralympic Committee of India.
2. Arrival of the Teams: 18th March 2022.
3. Departure of the Teams / Para Athletes : Within 24 hours of the completion of their event.
4. Competition: 19th to 20th March, 2022. Venue: Indoor Table Tennis Hall, Netaji Subhas Eastern Centre.
5. Classification : Medical Classification of all the Lifters will be done on 18th March 2022.
6. Events to be Conducted (Men & Women) - State/UT Association can send only Two Powerlifters entry per body weight category and Total 10 in Male and another 10 in Female category as per IPC Rule. The Organizing State Association can send Three Athletes entry per event as per MQS as attached ANNEXURE-I
7. Entry Procedure : All the State/ UT Associations are requested to conduct the Powerlifting Selection Trials. Accordingly, they are requested to submit the schedule of the Selection Trials, conducted and results to Head office PCI (hopcidelhi@yahoo.com) with a copy to jpsingh0616@gmail.com and info@paralympicindia.org.
8. The final list duly authorized by the State Association should be submitted to Head Office PCI (hopcidelhi@yahoo.com) with a copy to jpsingh0616@gmail.com, bengalparasports@gmail.com and info@paralympicindia.
9. Submission of entries:
a) Athletes must have National License to participate in 19th Senior & 14th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2022 .
b) The Deadline for submission of entries is 10th March 2022.
10.License
As per the current policy of PCI, it is mandatory for every Athlete to have National License / Id Card for their participation. Those who are new /first timer should apply for License with depositing license fee of Rs. 1000 per Participant (including Escorts) along with required documents for issuance of License contact Mr. D Nagaraj and Mr. Ravi Kumar.
11. ENTRY / LICENCE FEE FOR OFFICIALS / ESCORTS No entry fee shall be charged from the participants. However, registration of each participant (Athlete) for the renewal of the national License as per Point 9 is mandatory. The fee for the said registration should be deposited in PCI Account before participating in 19th Senior & 14th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2022.
12. National Athlete Registration can be done by depositing a Fee of Rs.1000/- to the Paralympic Committee of India’s Bank Account (Details as under):

13. Opening & Closing Ceremony: -No Opening & Closing Ceremony will be conducted due to COVID Restrictions.
14. Anti-Doping: - Dope Samples will be collected by the officials of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), as per the option of NADA
15. Accommodation, Food and local transport : State/Union Territory Unit will have to make their own arrangements for Accommodation, Food and local transport at their own cost, for their respective State Para Athletes & Team Officials. However, PCI may provide the said services at no cost to the participants and the confirmation for the same shall be shared by 04.03.2022.
16. Participation Certificates: Participation Certificates will be issued during the Competition. Participation Certificates will be issued only to those athletes who will achieve the Minimum Qualification Standards laid down by the PCI. The time for distributions of certificates will be notified during the competition. All the Eligible Para Athletes/Team Officials will be responsible to collect the ‘Participation Certificates’ by submitting the BIB Number to the concerned official.
17. Other Terms & Conditions
a. During the period of Championship an Athlete can raise a protest. The protest should be raised within stipulated time (within 30 minutes) and it should be submitted in writing along with a fee of Rs. 1000/-.
b. It is mandatory for All State/UT Associations to ensure that their team must have proper State kit to play. No kit will be provided by Organizing State Association to the Participating Teams.
c. All the State/UT Association Teams will travel under their own arrangement for reaching the venue. Travel Expense shall not be reimbursed.
d. If an Athletes does not qualify MQS, he/she shall not be awarded Merit Certificate and Medal. However, participant certificate will be given in case the Athletes attains the MQS.
e. Individual athletes representing States/Union Territories not affiliated to PCI have to apply for participation under PCI flag till 10th March 2022.
f. All Athletes must ensure that they are carrying their National License / ID Card, original disability certificate and Identity Proof also.
g. The Team Manager of respective State/UT Association will be the contact person to deal with Organizing Committee, Technical Committee and other sub-committee. No person other than the contact person will be entertained personally. The Team Manager will be responsible to collect and submit all details, documents and other information at the said Championship. He will attend all the meetings of Team Managers without any delay before opening of Championship and every evening after events in the said Championship.
h. The Organizing Committee of 19th Senior & 14th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2021 will be final authority for conducting Event, Protest and All other related issues. Their decision will be treated as final and binding. The Organizing Committee will have Sub Committees for smooth functioning of the said championship. The Committee will also be responsible for issuing of accreditation cards.
i. The Athletes who are found indulging in misconduct, unfair play, providing false information or misbehaviour will be banned and his/her result will be cancelled by The Organizing Committee as per PCI guidelines.
j. For all other Technical Rules , Regulations and Instructions All State / UT Associations are requested to follow the PCI guidelines.
k. The Performance of Athletes during the 19th Senior & 14th Jr. National Para Powerlifting Championship2022 will also serve as Selection Platform for the upcoming International Championship / Competitions.”
