Subject: Para Swimming Selection Trials.

Dear Sir / Madam,

The National Para Swimming Championship, 2022 is likely to be held on a later date than earlier proposed (October/November). From November 2022 till March 2023 there are several International Para Swimming Championships approaching and benefits of some of them are to be availed of by our Para Swimmers in the current ACTC. A few of these Championships will have classification opportunities. More important is that the Asian Para Games (APG) are fast approaching and we have to prepare a tentative list of swimmers and a calendar of events for National Coaching Camps (NCC) and foreign exposure etc. Therefore, in order to start preparing for these International Championships and for APG we are holding the Para Swimming Selection Trials at Zee Swimming Academy, Mount Litera Zee School, Whitefield, Bengaluru - 560067, Karnataka on Saturday, 15th October, 2022 (one day program, venue is same where we conducted the National Championship, 2020). You are requested to kindly do the needful or inform your Para Swimmers to do the same by themselves. The other details are as follows:

1.         ELIGIBILITY:

1.1.The Swimmer must hold an active WPS License for season 2022, and

1.2.Classified with “New (N)”, “Review (R)” or “Confirmed (C)” Sports Class Status, and

1.3.Should be ranked 6th or better in the last National Para Swimming Championship, 2021 in the event in which he/she desires to give the trial.

1.4.A swimmer can give trials in his/her best two events.

1.5. The performance of a swimmer given in any International Championship in this Competition Year (from 01.04.2022 till 15.10.2022) can be considered for selection even if the swimmer desire so and does not participate in the Selection Trials. His/her performance to be taken from WPS Rankings). However, the swimmers should send a request email to Chairman, STC Para Swimming (drvkdabas@gmail.com) along with event details and timings for consideration of his performance by the Selection Committee.

1.6.  Visually Impaired Swimmers must have the classification status verified either by WPS or by IBSA. Similarly, the Intellectually Impaired Swimmers must also have verification either from WPS or from CIVUS, India.

2.         BOARDING AND LODGING:

Swimmers coming for the Selection Trials shall make their own Boarding and Lodging arrangements. However, lunch and afternoon tea with snacks will be served at the Swimming Pool on the day of Trials.

3.         REGISTRATION:

For Registration a swimmer is required to deposit an amount of Rs. 1000/- to PCI’s Bank Account and produce the transfer receipt at the venue. The Bank account details of PCI are:

4.         ENTRIES:

After the payment of Registration Fee the Entry on the following tabled format should be sent through email to drvkdabas@gmail.com either by the State/UT Para Sports Association or by the swimmer directly (under intimation to his / her State/UT Para SportsAssociation). Entries of eligible candidates can also be accepted on the spot (at pool) between 8:00 & 9:00am. No entry will be accepted once the program/heats are drawn.

5.         REPORTING (TIME & DOCUMENTS):

Swimmers must report ready for the trials at Zee Swimming Academy, Mount Litera Zee School, Whitefield, Bengaluru - 560067, Karnataka on Saturday, 15th October, 2022 at 8:00am along with following documents:

5.1.      Self-attested photocopy of Passport (first & last pages)

5.2.      Self-attested photocopy of Bank Passbook

5.3.      Email ID and Mobile No. written on plain paper slip

5.4.      Passport size photograph (one only) as per European Visa requirements (dark shirt with white background, face coving 70% of space).

6.         AGE GROUP:

The Selection Trials are for Open Age Group.

Important Notes:

1. The Selection Committee reserves the right to make any change/s in the programme, if necessary, for administrative convenience and its decision in all matters pertaining to conduct of Selection Trails shall be final and binding.

2. Mr. S. R. Sindia, Mr. Sharath M. Gayakwad and Dr. V.K. Dabas shall conduct the Selection Trials as per WPS Rules. Dr. Deepa Malik, President, PCI & Chairman, Selection Committee and Mr. Gursharan Singh, Secretary General, PCI may either attend the Selection Trials in person or in virtual mode, depending upon their convenience.
