Paralympic Committee of India Celebrates Paralympic Day on 8th October 2023, in Bengaluru
Paralympic day is a global event held annually on 8th October to raise awareness and celebrated the incredible achievements of athletes with disabilities.
The day is inspired by the Paralympic movement and its motto of “Spirit in motion”.
It is a reminder of the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion in sports.
Paralympic day is celebrated all over the world, with events ranging from wheelchair basketball games to marathons.
The day will be celebrated in a big way in Paris as a lead up to the forthcoming Paralympic games in 2024
A key aim for the event is to encourage people to choose a sport that suits them and to join a club, in line with the initiatives taken by Paris 2024 and its stakeholders to develop sport for people with impairments
Paralympic Day will take place in the heart of the Bengaluru, giving a flavor of the Paralympic Games, allowing people to experience what the Games might be like and to increase their excitement for them.
Free and open to the public, the program, led by leading Indian and International athletes, will include a day of celebrations, competition and an introduction to Paralympic sports.
The event schedule will including a flag off at Vidhana Soudha by the Hon. Chief Minister of the State. Athletic Competitions at Sree Kanteerava Stadium
